Don’t know where to eat? The Buffalo Niagara Region is undoubtedly a year-round food festival!
The ethnic diversity of our neighborhoods is reflected in our love of tastes from all cultures. From authentic Italian dining, Chinese food, Greek, German and Polish fare, to spicy Mexican, Indian, Thai and Caribbean, you can always enjoy an authentic feast. In fact, Hertel Avenue in Buffalo NY and Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls NY are known amongst the locals as “Little Italy” for Italian dining. We boast our own traditional favorites - surely, you’ve heard of Buffalo Chicken Wings? Chicken wings marinated in secret sauces and deep fried or baked. A snacking staple throughout the country, they’ve even been spotted in London pubs. So while you’re here, taste the original!
Also indigenous to the Buffalo Niagara Falls region is Beef on Weck. Or more accurately, kummelweck – a German kaiser roll sprinkled with caraway seeds and pretzel salt then baked again until crusty. It’s piled high with fresh roast beef, au jus and spiced with horseradish.
If you’re in Buffalo on a Friday, you simply must partake in our traditional Friday night fish fry! It’s worth extending your stay to enjoy beer-battered, baked or fried fish served with fries and coleslaw at one of our area taverns, diners or cafés.
Thrill your taste buds each summer at the Taste of Buffalo and the Taste of Williamsville – just two of several annual food festivals. Indoors or outdoors, dining amidst live music or watching the sunset on the waterfront, our diverse menu is one of the Buffalo & Niagara Falls areas secret delights. You have plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from whether you’re here for the day, weekend or the week!
